Finland | University of Jyväskylä | The Language of Water

As a Research Fellow at the University of Jyväskylä, Ivan Juarez has developed the research-practice project «The Language of Water.» This project explores the aquatic environment of Finland’s Lakeland region, with a particular emphasis on Jyväskylä area. It frames water as a conceptual foundation for fostering reciprocal dialogues and interactions between humans and nature, with a focus on coexistence. In «The Language of Water,» the interconnectedness of life reflects the intricate network of lakes that have shaped the Finnish landscape. Water flows through these natural basins, seamlessly connecting communities, biodiversity and ecosystems, highlighting the profound relationship between local community and their environment.
